This Privacy Policy explains how Return to Self ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Harbor Point Press LLC, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use this website and the Inner Safety Portal membership ("the Service").
Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
Payment information: Membership payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment details.
Content you create: If you use journaling tools, reflection prompts, or other features inside the portal, that content is stored so it's available to you when you return. This content is private to your account.
Usage data: We may collect basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, to help us understand how the Service is used and to fix problems.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To process membership payments and manage billing
- To provide access to the healing paths, journal vault, and other member content
- To send you account-related emails (billing confirmations, password resets, welcome notes)
- To send occasional updates, reflections, or invitations related to Return to Self, which you can unsubscribe from at any time

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the third-party services that help us operate the Service, including:
- Stripe — for payment processing
- Vercel — for website hosting

Sensitive Content
Return to Self is a self-guided healing and reflection platform. It is not therapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for professional mental health care. Journal entries and reflections you create inside the portal are treated as private content and are not reviewed, monitored, or accessed by our team except as needed to provide technical support or as required by law.
If you are in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please contact a licensed professional or a crisis service in your area immediately. This Service is not equipped to respond to emergencies.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand basic site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the Service functions.
Data Retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your membership, we retain your information for 90 days in case you choose to return, after which it may be deleted upon request.
Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Children's Privacy
Return to Self is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify members by email or through a notice on the Service.
